Amador / Causeway

Boat appliance repair — Flamenco Marina

At Flamenco Marina on the Amador Causeway we service yachts moored minutes from the skyline and tour-boat traffic. Pacific exposure and bridge wind drive constant salt onto Isotherm/Vitrifrigo condensers and Scotsman/U-Line ice-maker terminals. We diagnose dockside when security and slip schedules allow — 12V/24V refrigeration, galley drawers, Sub-Zero on motor yachts and Dometic cooktops hit by open-portlight humidity. We quote OEM parts and import from Miami, coordinating with the captain or marina office so we do not clash with morning charters or tender traffic in the fairway.

Brands: Isotherm, Vitrifrigo, Dometic, Sub-Zero on yachts, Scotsman and U-Line ice makers, plus premium galley appliances.

Marine equipment & tropical failures

Isotherm
12V–24V fridge / freezer

Won’t cool after anchoring; corroded condenser fan or thermostat drift

Deck heat + salt air in the aft machinery space
Vitrifrigo
Drawer / undercounter fridge

Dried gasket, cabin condensation, short compressor cycles

Marina humidity and frequent door openings in the tropics
Dometic
Marine refrigeration / cabin AC

Weak cooling from a salt-fouled coil or oxidized electrical terminals

Constant salt breeze on long-term berths
Scotsman
Galley / flybridge ice maker

Low output, cloudy ice, or a seized water pump

Warm tank water + dust/salt on the condenser
U-Line
Bar ice maker / undercounter

Failed magnetic seal, clogged defrost drain, thin ice harvest

Column / drawer on a motor yacht

Panel gasket, evaporator fan, or control board after bilge-side moisture

Yacht A/C plus salt air in service alleyways
Isotherm / Vitrifrigo

Dometic
Galley cooktop / range

Damp igniters, corroded valves, seized knobs

Salt spray through open ports in rainy season
Scotsman / U-Line

Flamenco Causeway: vessels and dock access

The mix runs from day charters and weekend fishers to 50–80+ ft yachts with full galleys. Finger piers can be busy with fuel and provisioning early — we ask the captain for a clear window or off-peak authorization.

Causeway wind pushes spray into open aft decks; we always check condenser screens and gaskets before condemning a compressor. If the boat only lays over at Flamenco between trips, we prioritize fast-turn parts (fans, thermostats, seals, ice kits).

Dock access

  1. 01Share Flamenco slip, yacht name and captain or agent contact.
  2. 02We confirm technician and tool access with marina security (no unrelated gas cylinders).
  3. 03Dockside visit, quote, then — if approved — Miami order with arrival notice for the install visit.
